Technical capacity-building program, ALETI - ICANN on universal acceptance.

The ALETI-ICANN Technical Capacity Building Program has as
objective to equip professionals from ALETI member organizations with
the knowledge and technical skills necessary to promote and implement
Universal Acceptance (UA) and the Internationalization of Email Addresses
Electronic (EAI) throughout Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

  • Route 1: EAI Configuration (2 Sessions)

    Focuses on configuring email systems to effectively support EAI.

    Topics Covered:

    • Fundamentals of SMTP, POP/IMAP, and MIME

    • Handling email addresses with internationalized characters

    • Common compatibility issues and best practices for EAI implementation

    • Configuring a self-hosted EAI server on Linux

  • Route 2: UA for Software and Java Application Developers (2 Sessions)

    Focuses on the design and development of applications and systems compatible with UA.

    Topics Covered:

    • Handling Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs)

    • Enabling EAI support in applications

    • Java programming for UA compliance

    • Validation and normalization of internationalized inputs
